Oh holy mother of all that’s good and pure! *fans self* 🔥What a read! I was absolutely immersed in Big Bad Boss: Midnight from chapter 2. I could not put it down!! Read it front to back in a few hours and now I’m slumped that I have to wait until April for the next part! This book ends on a soft cliffhanger as it’s a trilogy, but it’s oh-so-good! I LOVED Brick and his growly ways. He’s the perfect Billionaire Alphahole (who’s also an actual Alpha, hehe) boss. His interactions with Madi either had me giggling because of their antics and verbal sparring or made me fan myself because of the saucy scenes. On Friday, my little temptress of an assistant comes in wearing another dress with a window to her boobs. –Big Bad Boss: Midnight Brick is the Alpha of his pack and is in a bit of a pickle, because Madi is a human (or is she…I am still hoping she’s actually not….? lol) which is creating problems because his wolf is hell-bent on mating her, however, this is not the thing you do when you are the Alpha. No humans allowed in the pack and all that! Not to mention the stigma that comes with falling in love and mating with humans! Brick’s pack will have none of it and their rival pack the Adalwulfs would smell blood in the water so to speak and go in for the kill. Safe to say it’s complicated right?! The book is well-written. It flows nicely and the ‘red thread’ as I call it is right there and easy to follow. Not that I’m surprised, because when Less Savino and Renee Rose partner up I always expect to be immersed and entertained. They have great synergy when writing and I can never tell who wrote what part, which is always a plus. The book didn’t have a downtime, I felt like something was happening constantly to keep me engaged. The sex is good, it’s not super smutty and is generally quite quick, but that has more to do with the settings than anything else, I mean someone might walk in the door any minute right? If you consider spontaneous office sex very smutty, then you might find it more so than me, hehe. My smut scale: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I do believe we might see better sex in the next book, at least I hope so. 📖This book is available on KU! ➡️Get KindleUnlimited L.V. Lane again gives us a wonderful OV fantasy telling, and this time it actually ties into other books in the Coveted Prey universe. We have met Doug and Jasmine before since they have had some small cameos in other books, so it was wonderful to finally read their origin story and how their relationship came to be. It was also great to see some scenes from other POVs, scenes that have had me wondering what actually happened. There are triggers in this book 👇 The book contains some dark aspects. The ‘Blighten’ is, after all, a war party and within said war party there is abuse, both mental, physical and sexual. Triggers notes and warnings from Author. Spoiler below. -Violence and gore. -Assaults, SA – None are related to the H against the h. -Death, cruelty, manipulation, blackmail. -Kidnap and servitude. Click for Spoiler The side character is a bondservant and forced to terminate an early pregnancy. It happens off-page, but the characters see the effects. Doug and Jasmine, however, is quite a light story with a big HEA. As mentioned this is Omegaverse and Jasmine is a female Omega. Doug is a half-orc and half-wolf shifter. His father was an Alpha wolf shifter, so Doug is also an Alpha shifter. However, he does not shift into a wolf. Doug is also born mute and can therefore not speak, however, he does not have many problems making himself understood, hehe. Being a white orc doesn’t help him. White orc? No one has ever seen one like him. Orcs come in two shades after all: Greenish or muddy-like. Because of this, other Orcs particularly the Blighten, believe him to be more of a brutish idiot. After all, his mother wanted nothing to do with him, despite his Alpha status, size and other accomplishments that I would argue the Blighten should feel were an asset to their cause. ♥️ Doug in his beast form ♥️ His white beast is truly magnificent and something to be terrified of! 😈 Art by: lykostherium You can read this book entirely as a stand-alone, even though it is the 19th book in the series. This is because though it ties together some scenes from other books, the couple’s story is entirely on its own. This is great for those of you who like to just jump in no matter the number in the series! ♥️ I found Doug & Jasmine to be a wonderful couple, even if their initial introduction and reason to stay together isn’t. Doug is a wonderful male Orc with a kind heart and is super gentle with Jasmine. He’s also very much a huge orc that also battles, rawrs and kills, so it was the best of two worlds. I liked Jasmine, and though her past is sad, she did the best she could with her circumstances. She is kind but she’s also feisty. The book had me laughing on more than one…

I did – because I finished this entire world that is currently published, and will be posting reviews of all the books in this series. This book belongs to the ‘Gods Universe’ and I highly recommend you read them in order – even though every book is a stand-alone. The Court of The Underworld #1 – Asterion was great but Ariadne less so… I haven’t read that many re-tellings of the Greek myths in a modern setting, but this wasn’t bad! I loved Asterion, he’s perfect – but sadly Ariadne just falls short for me. Don’t get me wrong, she’s got many good characteristics and she’s absolutely perfect for Asterion. The issue I have is that she’s written so epically good at what she does – you would never think she was mortal. This is a problem when said character IS “just” a mortal. Yes, she’s an assassin, she’s a great one at that – and trained kind of like the old Spartan schools where you either were the best or you died (just like in Sparta), but she’s also like five foot nothing and 100lbs – let’s try to at least be slightly realistic! There is just no way this small mortal female can do any type of hand-to-hand combat with a grown ass 6,5 foot 280lb fully trained (and we are talking trained-by-gods type of trained) man. It’s just not going to happen! That’s a “kick him in the balls and run” situation. That’s been proven several times, it’s just not physically possible. I’m all for her doing damage – and yes when she’s being a full assassin and getting the jump on people, coming out of the shadows etc etc, perfect! And I love it and yes she would definately be able to do her thing. But not if she’s the full-on focus! And this just kept happening… She was written to be so good, she’s better than Gods and Superheroes, and that got to me a little bit. It was just “too good” you know? The other thing that brings the book down is, and this is a repeating problem in the series by the way, and that is the editing. Now, the editing… it’s not terrible…but it’s not very good, and it could be miles better. There are consistently missing words, way more than there should be allowed to be. By that I mean when I am on double digits in a book, that’s way too many. And that’s for each book, not the whole series. There is also the problem of sentences starting with the FMC name again and again. Just a paragraph under or on the same page. This is a big no-no, and it gets annoying. It’s not a good…
📖This book is available on KU! Get KindleUnlimited! L.V. Lane‘s Owned is a dark-dystopian-HEA rough around the edges, kind of book. It’s got all the good stuff we have come to love from her writing. It’s erotic, it’s brilliant world-building, great character-building, and I really fell in love with the characters. This book is read from several perspectives, we have the two main female characters; Ava & Nora, but also their Alpha male men. This book is therefore two interlinked stories. This specific book has not been put in the Omegaverse category by the author, but the 2nd book ‘Owned & Knotted’ has. The setting itself, and the fact that this takes place in a dystopian world with slight a slight Sci-Fi feeling, where one of our male main characters, talks about the ‘enhancements’ that people have gotten, but also that he for example, and others, have had after-effects from these enhancements, and what he mentions, there are some of the things that we recognize from the Alphas in the Omegaverse trope. This I found very fascinating and cool! I also picked out several Omega traits from our two main female characters! I built this picture in my head that the book could very well be some sort of unofficial prequel to an Omegaverse world as if this was the very very beginning and another setting for how it came about that they developed the ABO dynamics hehe. But this was purely my own interpretation of the book and how I saw things, hehe, but it did open up for brainstorming and I enjoyed it, so I thought I would mention it. (It also turned out I was right when Book 2 was released! ) All in all, this is a wonderful book filled with action, but I must highlight that the setting is dystopian and women are in fact..well…owned. I say women, but I guess you could say, people. This is done by branding – so depending on who “owns” you…well… let’s just say that one of the main females has bad experiences. Therefore this book def. has power exchange, and the men are very very ALPHA, some are even insane (though not the main Hs) and so forth. The book has the normal dystopian setting, though it’s far from too gritty and I don’t consider the book to be extremely dark. It does have some dark content obviously, but mostly I found it to have more mystery of who the heroines are and what they are running from etc. The main Heroes are very family-oriented and I really liked them.
This series is just absolutely AMAZING and I so enjoyed it!
It’s a great retelling of Cinderella, one of the best ones I’ve read.
I had seen something in regards to this book before on my Kindle – it could even have been a little preview of it, but I kept disregarding it thinking “naaah…not for me”. That was until I started reading it without actually knowing what I was reading, haha. You see, my phone decided to scroll down in a different book – and it so happened that ‘Willing’ had a preview chapter at the end of that book, so I started reading thinking I was where I left off (in the actual book I was reading) only to get very confused and then intrigued, hehe. My intrigue left me finishing that preview chapter and I had to double-check what I had read. I was then very surprised to realise that the book I had left off thinking “wasn’t for me” – turned out really might be after all. Gotta love it when that happens! (Un)Willing is a PNR. It’s a vampire romance with a slow burn, there’s no doubt about that. If you are not a big fan of slow burns (which I am not actually, but this one did do it for me..hmm) you should go into it knowing this is one. This universe doesn’t have only Vampires though, it’s your typical Paranormal world, mentioning witches (which in this world are the evilest of beings), werebears and our main characters work closely with a pack of werewolves. What made this universe a bit different for me and I actually liked, was the introduction of a Saint Benedict “cult”. These would be the main antagonists in this world at this moment in time. The author set up the introduction of them and others – well, I think, and as this is only book 1 I can’t wait to read more. Essentially, they are a sort of holy order of the church. There is definitely a lot of backstory there to be further investigated (I hope) in the following books! We got a taste of what I assume will be book 2 and Raphael’s story in the prologue of book 1. *cheer* To me it’s clear that this series doesn’t really end in book 1 – it’s going to be a continuous story with the same characters having a strong foothold in all the books. At least that’s how it looks to me, so if that turns out not to be the case, I would be disappointed. The book ends on a sort of soft cliffhanger, there is a load of things that are not finished in book 1, many questions that still need an answer etc. This is one of the main reasons I believe the series continues into book two where we left off, and another reason why it’s grabbed my attention so well. If this was how the book really ended, it wouldn’t have gotten 4 stars from me, simply because there are still so many things not answered – but I am choosing to go with my gut…
